A fond farewell.

Charlie took to the skies today. After emerging from his chrysalis yesterday and quietly waiting till we had all gone outside to practice our fire drill, there he was flying out of the classroom door, orange wings outspread, up, up and away into the blue yonder. It was totally amazing to see him flying to the top of the tallest tree and flutter away. There was definitely a touch of sadness felt, as he had been with us for quite a while.
We are still left though with a couple more chrysalis, and at least 6 hungry caterpillars who are now munching into pumpkin, as their food supplies had become very depleted.  Thanks to James, we have now a lovely new swan plant if they feel like a change.
